In this episode Lindsay talks about the shock of losing her dad in a sudden accident while dealing with two young children on the spectrum and herself, giving corporate workshops on effective communication. During this most difficult time Lindsay came to realize that the only way to change the stress in her life was to stop avoiding difficult conversations with people. No more saying what people want to hear just to get approval or meet their needs it was through tragedy and having to be the voice for her children with special needs that Lindsay started to show up and speak up in her truth with everyone, all the time. Sounds hard? Not when giving people what they want to hear is harder and makes more of a mess than truth.
For sure, most people dealing with all that grief and stress might have fallen apart but you didn’t. Listeners will be strengthened by what you share with us today.
Show quote: There’s no question in my mind that for people to have positive and healthy interactions we have to develop out ability to interact receptively instead of reactively.
