Zoonie Nguyen
Follow Your Voice, Find Your Heart

Zoonie is a war survivor and Vietnamese refugee living a fantastic life of entrepreneurship and service. But first, she had a lot to overcome. In this episode Zoonie will discuss some of the struggles and challenges that came from the war experience and starting over in a new country. Although the situations and personal experience will be different for each person, listeners will likely recognize the daring it takes to face hard things and live it authentically from the heart, embracing all of it with understanding, compassion and self-love.

No decision, big or small, can be wrong when made from the heart and Zen can only be yours when you are true to yourself.

Show quote: “I was thinking to myself, Zoonie, you have to do something to belong. So I decided to learn to speak like them. I listened to French radio and stood in front of the mirror and practiced their accent and made some Quebecois friends. It was a huge achievement and they stopped bullying me but it came with a price. I slowly let go of my Vietnamese identity.”
